Jr. Trader - Grain & Commodities - Future Job (Petrolia,ON)

Reports To
CEO

Summary
The Grain/Commodity Trader sources buyers and sellers, negotiates prices and negotiates and arranges the transportation of the products. Relationship development and maintenance with buyers and sellers is an important part of the position. Success is achieved through knowledge of the market and trading, the ability to manage a number of pressing matters, ensuring details are addressed and enjoyment of the dynamic nature of the work. This is a new position that is a part of the company's growth strategy.

Working an energetic Monday-to-Friday with normal business hours will provide the trader with the time required to be successful in the position. Travel to clients and trade shows is required. A work station in a positive and natural-light work space close to other traders allows for frequent interaction between the traders.

The best trader will enjoy the activity and nature of the work, and working for an independent company that allows for freedom in trading and making deals for back-to-back or basis trading. The trader will also enjoy the variety of the work, and dealing with the full cycle of the transaction. They will operate strategically within the markets and have a solid understanding of trading in at least one market. If they are newer to trading, they will be willing to learn and develop new markets. If more experienced in trading, the trader will have a developed portfolio. A valid driver's license is required

Job Duties
  • Ensure that all materials are developed and distributed according to an appropriate timeline
  • Create own customer portfolio for Food/ Feed grade customers
  • Initiate trade show attendance, accommodation, travels, and secure funding in time for such trade shows or other marketing campaigns (export access, COTA)
  • Initiated sales are at any time subject to due diligence. All sales and purchase agreements must be signed by management for validity.
  • Follow every action of the execution of the sales contract. Ensure deadlines are met and due diligence is applied at every step of the execution
  • Ensure samples are received, tested, stored or forwarded properly for all purchases and sales
  • Initiate market research studies and analyse their findings
  • Follow Commodity markets and secure commodities if required
  • General office duties such as Faxing, copying, e-mail correspondence etc.
  • Willingness to assist coworkers with work associated with the nature of a farm office and a farm marketing company
  • Create marketing campaign
  • Search for products and Suppliers
  • Keep product inventory updated
  • Keep up-to-date on current marketing trends
Job Requirements
  • Degree or diploma in marketing, communications, business, or a related field
  • One year of related experience in marketing
  • Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
  • High flexibility with strong interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse environment
  • Displays the essential leadership qualities of integrity, conviction and courage
  • Experience in creating and executing successful e-mail marketing, Internet marketing, and direct marketing programs
  • General understanding of social media marketing
  • Ability to work individually as well as part of a team
  • Ability to prioritize and manage conflicting demands
  • Demonstrated time management skills
  • High level of integrity and work ethic
Work Conditions
  • Operation of desktop computer and peripherals
  • Working in an office environment

Compensation and benefits
The trader will enjoy base salary and a very generous participation in the profit of each transaction. Benefits: healthcare, prescription drugs and vision.

Travel expense are reimbursed. The company encourages and compensates continuous education.
